Wild Goose Chase

Brian and I love to take adventurous road trips every Saturday. We love to pray and ask God to take us places we've never been, show us things He wants us to see, introduce us to people He wants us to meet and experience things He wants us to experience. This past weekend we were led to make reservations at a place we had heard of a long time ago but had never stayed at. We took off on our adventure with an overnight bag and a new book I had just bought Brian for his birthday. I had no idea what the book was about but as I began to read it out loud to him in the car, it became very clear, God was speaking to us! "Wild Goose Chase" by Mark Batterson, is about letting the Holy Spirit lead you on adventures. We had the best time reading, talking, eating, finding treasures in thrift stores and on the beach, hiking, climbing trees, sitting with coffee, watching the waves, praying and spending quality time with God and each other!

Paralyzed by Fear

"The one thing that bothers me more than anything else is to see able-bodied people who are mentally-paralyzed." Christopher Reeves (Superman) right before his death. I used to be this person. Paralyzed with fear. Jesus Christ set me free. He can set you free too. There's only one catch. You have to want to be set free.

Note from Iranian Election Protester June 19, 2009

"I will participate in the demonstrations tomorrow. Maybe they will turn violent. Maybe I will be one of the people who is going to get killed. I'm listening to all my favorite music. I even want to dance to a few songs. I always wanted to have very narrow eyebrows. Yes, maybe I will go to the salon before I go tomorrow! There are a few great movie scenes that I also have to see. I should drop by the library, too. It's worth to read the poems of Forough and Shamloo again. All family pictures have to be reviewed, too. I have to call my friends as well to say goodbye. All I have are two bookshelves which I told my family who should receive them. I'm two units away from getting my bachelors degree but who cares about that. My mind is very chaotic. I wrote these random sentences for the next generation so they know we were not just emotional and under peer pressure. So they know that we did everything we could to create a better future for them. So they know that our ancestors surrendered to Arabs and Mongols but did not surrender to despotism. This note is dedicated to tomorrow's children..."

Pay Love Forward

Today is born of yesterday's role.
Then, there was a vision
For tomorrow's goal.
Now, we reap, the ancestor's fruit,
As we spread the seed
For our kin's youth.
We are a wheel.
We are wed.
Pay love forward,
Tomorrow is fed.

Happy Birthday Daniel

24 years ago today my water broke in the Baby Department at the Department Store I worked at. 7 hours later, and all completely natural, baby Daniel blessed my life! He has been an amazing role model for his brothers and sister, for many of his friends, and even for his parents. Now a grown man, he continues to bless our lives! Happy Birthday Daniel! I am so proud of you and I absolutely love you!

Figures.

I had this blog way before Daniel or Noah! Go Mom Girl! Wait...I don't really ever blog on it though...maybe that cancels me out? Maybe I'm not as cool as I thought. Figures.
